James Ketchell

Oddizzi spent the day with James Ketchell, a British adventurer at a primary school in Leeds this month (October 2021).

In 2014, James became the first and only person to have rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, climbed Mt. Everest and cycled around the world in what the media dubbed “The Ultimate Triathlon”. In 2019 he flew an open cockpit gyroplane around the world – setting a Guinness Word Record.

James did a fantastic assembly for KS1 and KS2 telling tales of his adventures around the world. Classes also had the opportunity to spend an additional session with him on a more one to one basis to ask questions and sample expedition food! The Oddizzi team have sat in hundreds of primary assemblies over the years but this one was the most powerful and inspirational to date.

James is a perfect guest for schools studying explorers past and present, contrasting localities, mountains or inspirational people.
